With systems as described, auto manufacturers will have to manage liability in other tools to contractual engagements. This will be a balance of risk, and economic return for the data collection and control.

With the current technology, and protection associated, we will expect the vehicle owner will manage these as best as the technology will allow.
Over the vehicle's control systems, the owner will have the most control as to how data can be used, and the older the vehicle, the less control these will have. This will be an expectation.
For vehicle owners to offer most of these controls, vehicle owners will have to manually control computer systems, a point of action which will automatically trigger these systems.

Addressing consumers, automobile manufacturers, and suppliers potential loss of privacy and data collection concerns, will provide tools that will minimize these concerns.
